On May 21st, the Varsity Athletic Awards Ceremony was held in the Sarría Family Dining Hall. Student-athletes who played at the varsity level were recognized. The community gathered to reflect on the incredible success that our Wolverines achieved throughout their season. Each coach had the opportunity to say a few words about their team's success and challenges over the year and honor their team’s MVP and Coaches Award recipient.
“We are so proud of the commitment, determination, and perseverance that our student-athletes demonstrated this year,” said Athletic Director Lazaro Fernandez. “Their success is attributed to their consistent, productive habits. 'These are the attributes that we want to continue to develop as our student-athletes become the Men the Lord Jesus Christ wants them to be. Men who are dedicated to Growth, Intellectually Competent, Religious, Loving, and Committed to Doing Justice, but more importantly desire to be Christ-like here on earth to then partake in God's glory in Heaven.”
In addition to the MVP and Coaches Award presented to members of each team, student-athletes received special named awards for their incredible achievements in the classroom and on the field.

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
