New Logos Unveiled

Teresa Martinez | Director of Communications
We are proud to announce the launch of a new series of logos as part of the modernization of our brand. As of August 21, 2023, you will see our new Wolverine across campus, online, on fan gear and sports uniforms, and on social media.

Our new Wolverine logo reflects the school’s commitment to ongoing improvements and innovation. Maintaining our iconic colors - navy and gold - our new logos fit into our visual brand identity and provide a more professional and contemporary style.

The new logos evoke strong feelings of energy and excitement. “The new logos will help to elevate our brand and strengthen our tradition,” said Tommy de Quesada '94, Executive Director of Enrollment & Community Outreach. “We look forward to continuing to integrate the new logos and word marks across the campus and in the Campus Store."

This was a collaborative effort, and we worked closely with graphic designer Charlie Calderín '90 to achieve the look we wanted to convey.

“I have a lot of respect for, and gratitude to, the Belen Jesuit legacy and everything our community and education has provided me,” said Calderín, President of Doink Design. “I am really honored I have been trusted with the school's visual identity and, by extension, the Belen Jesuit family. I hope to always represent our family well.”

Five new logos were unveiled, beginning with the new Wolverine. This forward-facing logo will be used predominantly in athletics, graphics, and fan gear. The old Wolverine logo has been retired. Next is the full body, side view of the Wolverine. This secondary logo will be used sporadically on fan gear, key locations, and/or graphics. The claw mark will be used as an additional graphic to add an extra element to a design and won’t be used independently. Our word marks were also refreshed and can be used together or separately, “Belen Jesuit” or “Belen Jesuit Wolverines.”

These new logos will enhance our family of logos and do not affect the primary school logo (crest with 1854) primarily used in academics, or the “B,” which will continue to be used in student life and athletics.

The Belen Jesuit Preparatory School logos are trademarked, and their correct use is essential to maintain the marks and protect their value. No vendor is allowed to sell any product with our logo or name without written permission. It is imperative to the brand that the school’s visual identity is consistent and appropriate; nothing should be published or printed (i.e., t-shirts, hats, sweaters, stickers, magnets, etc.) without written consent. Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
