For over a decade, Belen Jesuit has partnered with Baptist Health to Battle Like a Wolverine. For 11 years, this event has been a family-friendly walk/run on our campus, raising awareness for breast cancer and over $100,000 to provide free mammograms. We are shifting the focus to cancer awareness and moving off campus, joining the Bounce Back from Cancer™ event as the Battle Like a Wolverine Team!
“The Belen basketball teams are ready to step up and lead the charge at this event,” said Head Basketball Coach Chachi Rodríguez. “We have always supported Battle Like a Wolverine, and this event will be no different. The team will help rally our Wolverines and are looking forward to battling cancer.”
Bounce Back from Cancer™ is a powerful collaboration between The Miami HEAT and Baptist Health Foundation. It is an annual grassroots event that unites our community with a common goal: to raise critical funds for Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.
The Battle Like a Wolverine Team will be walking/dribbling a basketball for 2 miles from The Underline to the Kaseya Center on March 16 at 10 a.m. The Belen community is invited to join the team and help us battle cancer!

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
