For over a decade, Belen Jesuit has partnered with Baptist Health to Battle Like a Wolverine. For the second year, we will participate in the Bounce Back from Cancer™ event as the Battle Like a Wolverine Team!
“Once again, the Belen basketball teams are ready to step up and lead the charge at this event,” said Head Basketball Coach Chachi Rodríguez. “We have always supported Battle Like a Wolverine, and this event will be no different. The team will help rally our Wolverines and are looking forward to battling cancer.”
Bounce Back from Cancer™ is a powerful collaboration between The Miami HEAT and Baptist Health Foundation. It is an annual grassroots event that unites our community with a common goal: to raise critical funds for Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute.
The Battle Like a Wolverine Team will be walking/dribbling a basketball for 2 miles from The Underline to the Kaseya Center on Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m. The Belen community is invited to join the team and help us battle cancer!
Steps to register:
Click here to register and join our team. The registration fee is $55 and includes an event t-shirt, basketball and additional event swag. Each team member will need to raise a minimum of $150. Please remember that the team will only be participating in the 2-mile event.
If you can’t attend the event but still want to support the Battle Like a Wolverine team, please register as a benchwarmer and make your donation online.
Learn More: To find out more about the cause and get a glimpse of what the day of the event will be like, you are encouraged to visit the Bounce Back from Cancer™ website at BounceBackfromCancer.net. There, you'll discover inspiring stories, event details, and more about the vital work they are doing.
It is important to note that this is a community event and that any money raised benefits the Miami Cancer Institute.
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
