You’re Amazing

Roberto Artiz | Director of Campus Ministry
It’s our hope to instill in our young men the conviction to proclaim the word of God and to wear with honor the badge of being Catholic men.
With that notion in mind, on January 30, we are proud to welcome to our campus the “You’re Amazing” tour, produced by Hard as Nails Ministries. This event will feature age appropriate dialogue and interaction for both our middle school and high school students during the day, and concludes with a family community event at night in the Roca Theater at 7 p.m.

“You’re Amazing” features nationally known speaker Justin Fatica and the Hard as Nails Team, who will bring a message of HOPE that will change your life forever. Be encouraged, challenged, and inspired like never before, and realize just how amazing you are! The team believes that everyone should know that they are AMAZING, not for what they have done, but for who they are in the eyes of God. This recognition of who they are (their baptismal calling) is the first step in neutralizing all of the negativity they experience (via loneliness, despair, suffering, alienation, loss etc.) because they will know their true dignity.

The “Hard as Nails” Missionary Team is a national Catholic/Christian organization started in 2002, that assist schools, churches, and other organizations in their efforts to introduce people to Jesus, develop individual relationships with Jesus, and cultivate local communities. They are unabashedly Catholic but their ministry seeks to build up all Christian faiths regardless of denomination. The Missionary Team is composed of young adults who have committed themselves to one and two year terms to tour the country sharing their stories in a determined  hope to awaken youth and young adults to the power of God’s love and to help them build personal relationships with Jesus while stepping outside of their comfort zones.

Parents interstested in attending the presentation with their sons on January 30 are asked to RSVP by emailing Campus Ministry - Zilkia Jimenez at zjimenez@belenjesuit.org. For more information on the Hard as Nails team visit http://hanm.org/about/mission

Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain.  The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline.  In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty.  The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow.  Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
