The school community is encouraged to participate in this year's Toy Drive.
Thanks to everyone who participated in our Thanksgiving collection. We collected over 150 boxes and more than $2,000 dollars in gift cards. Together, we provided food for hundreds of underprivileged families in our community.
As we begin Advent and prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ, we invite the entire Belen community to continue in the spirit of giving by donating new, unwrapped toys for boys and girls, ages 3 and up. The toys will be delivered by students to the children at San Juan Bosco. Toys can be dropped off in the Campus Ministry office, the school's main office and in the lobby of the Administration building. The deadline to drop off your donation is Tuesday, December 19.
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
