• A Catholic, Jesuit School

  As a school of the Society of Jesus founded in Cuba in 1854 and later exiled to Miami in 1961, Belen is Catholic and Jesuit by nature. Belen Jesuit is a member of the Society of Jesus Caribbean Province, which consists of the sections of Miami, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, and Guyana.
  
  At Belen, students learn what it means to be men for others. They grow in faith and are inspired to work for justice for the poor and persecuted. Some students also travel to places like the Dominican Republic over the summer on immersion trips to live and work in solidarity with people in third-world countries, and all students volunteer in their local communities. They attend retreats and grow closer to God through Ignatian prayer.

• College Preparatory Academics

  Belen Jesuit is one of the state’s best college preparatory schools and is among the nation’s top Catholic high schools. Niche also ranked Belen as the best all-boys high school in Florida. Our classes vary from Latin American History to Anatomy and Physiology to Mandarin to Philosophy.
  
  

  A robust and rigorous honors, AP, and dual enrollment program is offered to our students and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses in middle and high school.  Our students can earn an AP Capstone™ diploma or certificate and an AP +PLTW Student Achievement Certificate.  
  
  The state-of-the-art Roberto C. Goizueta Innovation Center exposes students to a rigorous STEAM program that can prepare students to become problem-solvers in a global society, preparing them for the 21st-century workforce. The Innovation Center is also home to Engineering courses and Robotics teams. 
  

  
  The Catholic Entrepreneurship Program focuses on shaping the whole person and interconnecting business principles with catholic values. 
  
  Each year, Belen sends 100% of its graduates to colleges all over the United States and abroad. Universities such as Penn, Yale, Princeton, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Fordham, and many others have Belen alumni walking their hallways and gracing their classrooms. We aim to help each student find the right college for him.

• Belen Faculty

  Belen’s faculty is made up of men and women who are not only experts in their fields but are also passionate about what they teach and love sharing that passion and knowledge with their students.
  
  Our teachers are highly qualified, some with over 20 years of experience and 100 faculty members hold higher degrees in education. Our faculty also includes six Jesuit priests, one archdiocesan priest, two deacons, and one sister of the religious order of St. Philip Neri. It is no wonder our faculty strive to inspire our students to become not only avid 21st-century learners but also true “Men for Others."

• Athletics

  Over 770 of our students participate in a sport, and 77% of students who received honor roll status played a sport. At Belen Jesuit, our students have the opportunity to play in 16 sports/ 50 teams. Our Wolverines have won 32 State Championships and 39 Academic State Championships.

• Campus Facilities

  Located on 34 acres in West Miami-Dade County, Belen has a beautiful, state-of-the-art campus. Our school's Catholic identity is cemented in the Our Lady of Belen Chapel, located in the southeast corner of the campus and seating 638. 
  
  The Raúl and Nidia Rodríguez Science Pavilion houses our biology, chemistry, and physics laboratories. It also houses the Fides et Ratio Patio.
  
  The Ignatian Center for the Arts is home to the Ophelia & Juan Js. Roca Theater and Olga & Carlos Saladrigas Art Gallery, as well as the Leopoldo Nuñez Rehearsal Hall, classrooms, and the center's administrative office.
  
  

  The state-of-the-art Roberto C. Goizueta Innovation Center provides a workspace filled with various tools and resources that will expose students to design thinking and allow them to develop the skills needed to thrive in the 21st-century workforce. The center also includes our gymnasium and locker rooms. 
  
  The Gian Zumpano Aquatic Center is home to the seven-time State Champion Swim Team and four-time State Champion Water Polo Team.
  
  Adjacent to the aquatic center is the Roberto Surís Athletic Center. The three-story, nearly 60,000-square-foot building features two weight rooms, a second gym, two dozen treadmills, ERG Machines, golf simulators, and much more!  Click here to read more about our athletic facilities.
  
  The Arroyo Quad aims to remind alumni and students of the Jesuits who dedicated their lives to God and served at our school. Click here to read more about the quad. 
  
  The Sarría Family Dining Hall features 13 high-definition monitors, two 176” HD projectors and screens, and 30 Bose speakers. The kitchen is state of the art and can efficiently service the busy lunch periods and special events. The focal point is a historical mural representing the school’s history from Cuba to Miami in photographs.
  
  The Shanley Family Administration building houses the following offices: President, Advancement, Admissions, Business, Technology Director, and Alumni Association. The Cosculluela Hall is also located in this building. 
  
  Continuing a tradition of over 140 years, the Fr. Benito Viñes, SJ Observatory is at the service of its students and the Miami community. The observatory has a 16” telescope and a CCD camera for astrophotography. The observatory was made possible by donations from the Belen Jesuit Class of 1972. 

• Legacy

  The Belen Alumni Association of Jesuit Schools from Cuba and Miami has thousands of members participating in activities organized by the association.
  
  These graduates stay connected to Belen through various events, from class gatherings and homecomings to liturgies and celebrations. Several of our alumni have been so grateful for their education at Belen that they now form part of its faculty and staff.
