The Varsity Cross Country Team won its 15th Regional Championship at the Class 3A Region 4 Meet held at South Fork High School in Stuart on November 4.
With a clean sweep of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, and 6 runners in the Top 10, the team scored 23 points. The Wolverines were led by senior Joshua Collins who finished in first place. Rounding out the top seven were: Sebastian Roa‘19, Adam Magoulas ‘22, Matthew Bryan ‘20, Lucas De La Hoz ‘19 Cesar Aguzzi ‘19, Diego Gomez ’21.
The team has now won 10 meets in a row and its next and final race of the season will be in Tallahassee at the Apalachee Regional Park for the FHSAA State Championship on November 11.
Belen Jesuit Preparatory School was founded in 1854 in Havana, Cuba by Queen Isabel II of Spain. The task of educating students was assigned to the priests and brothers of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits), whose teaching tradition is synonymous with academic excellence and spiritual discipline. In 1961, the new political regime of Cuba confiscated the School property and expelled the Jesuit faculty. The School was re-established in Miami the same year, and over the next decade, continued to grow. Today, Belen Jesuit sits on a 30-acre site in western Dade County, only minutes away from downtown Miami.
